Tzante Cafe & Bistro has been providing a welcome stop for shoppers and visitors to Zakynthos Town since 1994. Situated in the centre of the town, half way along the main shopping street (the Alexandra Roma), 2 minutes walk from the police station and harbour promenade, the owners, George and Nitsa, strive to offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for those who wish to rest, refresh and relax for a while during their visit to the capital of the island. The oudoor area of the cafe is a comfortable and shady space to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of life in the busy town, whilst indoors is a cool retreat away from it all with air conditioning, plasma T.V. showing up to date sports and news, and 2 internet stations available for e-mailing home or surfing the net. Open 6 days a week in the summer months (closed Sundays) and 7 days a week in the winter months, from 6.30am until midnight, there is an extensive menu of beverages and snacks for you to choose from. Whether you are after a quick, cold soft drink or fresh juice to cool down on a hot summer day, or would like to spend more time to wine and dine, you will be greeted with a friendly smile by the english speaking owners and staff. Stop by for a drink and choose from a variety of slush puppies, hot & cold beverages, soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits & liqueurs or add a snack from the menu with a choice of fresh pastries made daily, hot or cold sandwiches served with chips, fresh salads or jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings. Try one of Tzante cafe's special sweet or savoury crepes with a choice of fillings or tasty American style buttermilk pancakes & waffles served with warm maple syrup or greek honey & butter. Alternatively, go Greek and enjoy a Zakynthian Meze (salamis, smoked meat, cheeses, salad, snacks & bites) best served with wine, beer or ouzo. There is also a range of homemade desserts, from lemon merangue pie & cheesecake to the more traditional Greek frigania, yalaktobouriko and baklava. Or perhaps you would simple like to cool down with an ice cream or sorbet of different flavours.
